Bad road will have security ramifications: CM tells BRO
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: Taking serious view of the repeated public complaints against deteriorating work quality of BRO in construction and maintenance of the border roads, Chief Minister Kalikho Pul said that any compromise on work quality could have serious security ramifications for the nation.
Pul was speaking to Assistant Director General Border Roads (Asst. DGBR), Dr. SS Porwal on Saturday.
CM said that since Arunachal is a strategic border state, the security issues attached with road construction could not be taken lightly.
“While neighbouring China has built high quality roads, railways and airways in the vicinity, the Indian side is still struggling with porter tracks and unable to even maintain single border road,” said the CM and pointed out the delay in completion of several border roads such as in Tawang.
He also brought to the notice of the authorities regarding construction materials of BRO being sold in the open market. Stating leakage of construction materials as serious offence, the Chief Minister informed that instruction has been issued to all district administrations and police department to immediately arrest all offenders and conduct checks to prevent such practise.
Further urging the BRO to stay alert during the time of natural calamity such as flood, the CM advised the official to resolve all its internal limitations informing that road communication in Tawang, Anini, Hawai and Chaglagam were presently cut off.
Pul also called on BRO to increase its manpower and supplement it with modern machines and equipments. Suggesting measures to enable safe ride on hilly roads for the commuters, he urged for construction of crash barrier in all identified accident prone areas to protect vehicles and its occupant from falling off the cliff.
On small streams and rivulets, he advised the BRO not to use hume pipe culverts as it was observed that such construction do not provide easy passage of flowing water, and instructed to use box culvert instead.
Pointing out that BRO had the practise of temporarily clearing landslides; the CM said the un-cleared part of the landslide pose risk to the commuters.
He also advised to construct proper drainage channel along the road for durability and safety. Further, the CM urged the BRO to monitor its work 24 hours to prevent any compromise on its work. (PRO, CMO)
Two killed in Lumla landslide, four injured
Rijiju visits landslide affected Tawang; assures central help
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: A Septuagenarian couple was killed and four others injured seriously in a landlside in Thongleng village under Lumla sub-division in Tawang on Friday night.
The landslide, which occurred at around 9.30 pm, also washed away three houses, Lumla ADC informed.
The couple was identified as Sangey Chomu (72) and Sangey Gombu (71). The injured persons are Gombu Yangzom (30), Dema Chomu (27), Yeshi Pema (17) and a 10-month-old baby. They have been admitted in District Hospital Tawang. Victims and injured persons are reported to be from same family, DIRPO reported. The condition of one of the injured persons is stated to be critical
The roads within Lumla township are also badly damaged in various locations while water and electricity supply are disrupted in several villages.
Around 10 houses were damaged during this week due to natural calamity. Heavy damages were also caused to agricultural and horticultural land under Lumla sub-division.
District Administration is providing relief materials and assistance as per norms, the source informed.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju inspected the landslide affected areas of Tawang district, including the labour camp at Famla where 16 persons were killed in a massive landslide on Friday.
Rijiju assured to take up the matter with the Central as well as the State Governments and directed for a detailed assessment of the damages caused to public and private properties.
Rijiju was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretaries cum local MLA (Tawang) Tsering Tashi, Jambey Tashi (Lumla), Tawang Deputy Commissioner Duly Kamduk, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Jambey Tsering and other public leaders.
Later, attending a disaster preparedness meeting convened by the Tawang Deputy Commissioner, the Tawang MLA directed the concern officer in charge of the camps to ensure power and water supply and other essential services to those, who have taken shelter in the camps.
The Lumla MLA requested all the HoDS to make optimum use of resources available in this hour of crisis. He was of the view that prioritising proper planning of drainage system can go a long way in preventing man made disasters.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the DFCSO and DMO to keep sufficient stock of medicines and PDS items and stay in their stations.
It was decided in the meeting that an area would be earmarked for dumping of earth as callous dumping has been found to be one of the major causes of landslides.
Various school buildings and community halls were designated as temporary relief camps.
Reports of landslides triggered by constant rainfall, damages of buildings/properties are still pouring in from various ends.
Meanwhile, local MLA Likha Saaya accompanied by Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Kemo Lollen visited Yazali township area , devastated by landslides and flash flood.
Saaya trekked up to the destroyed water tank site at Pasa Pobu (stream) which lies on the opposite bank of the Panyor River.
The DC suggested for construction of a new water tank around the bank of the Pasa stream instead of trying to restore it which would be costlier. The MLA also suggested for the same and directed the Panchayat members to search for a suitable location immediately.
Thereafter, the team proceeded to New Yazali, where flash flood destroyed at least two houses completely besides destroying agricultural fields and also a fish pond.
Observing that the houses were built very close to the banks of the stream, Saaya suggested the DC to issue administrative notification to caution the people living along the stream to move to a safer ground considering actual monsoon is yet to arrive.
Later, the team proceeded to A-Sector residential colony wherein two houses were badly hit by the flash flood destroying various household properties.
Also, in the vicinity, the MLA and the DC witnessed yet another destroyed water supply pipelines.
Later, addressing the circle officials, Panchayat and public leaders, MLA Saaya assured the people that the Chief Minister will understand their plight and expressed the hope that funds for immediate relief and long term restoration works will be provided by the government.
Lollen informed that immediate relief in terms of cash and kind will be provided to the victims after proper assessment and estimation of the losses incurred.
Govt creates 2541 posts under Health dept
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: The state government has created 2541 posts under the Department of Health and Family Welfare in order to revamp health delivery system in the state.
Out of the 2541 posts, there are five posts for Super Specialists including Rheumatologist, Neurologist, Nephrologist, Gastroenterologist and Endocrinologist as well as Junior Specialists, Dental Specialists, GDMOs, Drug Inspectors and Staff Nurses.
Chief Minister Kalikho Pul said that the govt has created these posts in order to meet up the manpower shortage in General Hospitals, District Hospitals, CHCs, PHCs and Sub-Centres across the state.
Chief Minister has instructed the Department of Health & Family Welfare to complete the appointment process within this year.
In case of non-technical posts (C&D categories), appointments will be done district wise as per the vacancy position and health units in each district.
The Chief Minister expressed the hope that with the filling up of man power requirement of the Health Departments, the Health Indicator of the state will improve, which is very poor at present.
Transfer and posting of doctors and nurses will be rationalized as per the requirement of health institutions, CM said. He also said that promotion will be done as per the seniority list and recommendation of the Departmental Promotion Committee.
Pul also appealed to the health workers and the govt employees, especially those working on contract basis to refrain from forming union or association and collect money in order to put pressure on the govt for regularization of their jobs.
He said that there is no need to go for dharna and rally to press for demands citing that govt will do its best for whatever is feasible to meet the genuine needs. However, the Chief Minister said that the govt will not hesitate to take disciplinary action against the govt employees, if found indulging in such activities. (PRO, CMO)
Water Supply disrupted in Itanagar, Yachuli, Yazali

ITANAGAR, Apr 23: Water Supply has been disrupted in several places in Itanagar after a portion of NH 415 was destroyed to make way for stream/drain water that inundated Hotel PYBUSS. The underground water supply lines have completely been damaged leading to scarcity of water in Nyokum lapang, Solung ground area, parts of P, C, D, F and ESS Sectors, IG Park area, Daying Ering colony, MLA Cottage, Sector.
The department has said that it will take few more days as the officials are trying to find out an alternate route for restoration of water supply.
A team of PHE officials including SE PHE, Tayum Tok, EE Tadar Mangku and JEs inspected the damaged portion on Saturday.
Talking to this daily, Er Tayum Tok said that arrangements are being made for water tankers to supply water in affected areas.
Meanwhile, Water supply to Yachuli and Yazali towns has been cut off. The supply pipeline was damaged by a landslide on April 21 last triggered by torrential rain. Water supplies to various nearby villages were affected.
Assistant engineer PHE & WS, Yachuli Sub-Division, Nabam Chada in a statement has informed that restoration works are in progress to repair the damage which may take up the whole week.
Chakma students appeals CM for flood relief
NEW DELHI, Apr 23: The Arunachal Pradesh Chakma Students’ Union (APCSU) has sought the Chief Minister’s personal intervention to provide adequate compensation and rehabilitation to the flood affected Chakma people of several villages under Diyun circle.
APCSU in a release informed that over 200 Chakma families in Dumpani and Udaipur villages under Diyun Circle lost their houses, agricultural lands due to flood caused by over flowing Noa Dihing River.
The flood in the area started from April 8. However, there was no immediate response and precautionary steps taken, which resulted in the worsening of the flood situations and a number of villages located near the Noa Dihing River are on the verge of disappearance, stated the APCSU.
The APCSU also mentioned that the main reason for recurrent flood situation in Diyun and adjoin area is the complete failure to take strong preventive measure to control floods caused by the Noa Dihing River. Though the Government of India had sanctioned crores of money to take permanent flood control measures caused by the Noa Dihing River, there has been no permanent flood control measures, the union alleged.
Some of the embankments constructed are temporary and poorly built, it claimed.
The student body appealed to the Chief Minister to instruct the authorities concerned to assess the losses incurred by the flood affected Chakma families and provide compensation and provide necessary urgent relief materials to the victims for their rehabilitation, who are presently taking shelter in relief camps and to take permanent flood control measures to stop recurring flood situation.
DC appeals for mock drill cooperation
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: Itanagar Capital Complex DC-cum-District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Chairman, Sandeep Kumar Singh has appealed to the people to cooperate with the DDMA during the mock drill on earthquake which is scheduled to be held on Apr 25 next at various locations of Naharlagun.
He was addressing the students at Kendriya Vidyalaya No-1, during a pre-briefing session of the said mock drill at Naharlagun on Saturday. The DC asked the students to take advantage of the briefing session which would help them plan out proper strategy if ever there is a real earthquake. He said that earthquake does not kill but lack of awareness does.
While informing that Fire & Emergency is also a part of Disaster Management, SP Fire & Emergency services, Kime Aaya explained in detail the fire safety measures to the students and further informed that they could be contacted at 101 for any kind of fire emergency.
Naharlagun EAC, Hento Karga also highlighted few incidents from the recent earthquake in which many people got injured due to panic and appealed everyone to be physically and mentally prepared to face any kind of disaster. He further asked every student, teacher and staff of the school to participate in the mock drill.
The session was also conducted at various locations at Police Colony and Tomo Riba State Hospital.
At Tomo Riba State Hospital, the doctors, nurses and other staffs of the hospital were also given proper briefing regarding earthquake awareness. The briefing session was attended by a team of NDRF, SDRF headed by Deputy Commandant Marge Riba, SDPOs Itanagar and Naharlagun, OC of Women Police Station, Naharlagun, DDSE Itanagar, DDMO Itanagar and other stakeholders. CM’s Public Darbaar
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: Hundreds of people were on queue outside the Chief Minister's Office to meet the Chief Minister Kalikho Pul during the first day of Public Darbaar on Saturday. Official assaulted by BJP Yuva Morcha activist

PASIGHAT, Apr 23: In what can be termed as huge embarrassment for the State BJP, party’s state Yuva Morcha vice president Obang Gao and one Samuel Gao (JE, PWD, Mebo Sub-Division) were booked for allegedly assaulting an official of National Buildings Construction Corporation, C/o Incubation Center for Apparel & Garment Manufacturing Unit, Pasighat.
The official of the NBCC Paritosh Goyal was allegedly physically assaulted by Obang Gao after Goyal refused to give money as demanded by him.
According to the NBCC official, Obang had been demanding Rs. 2 lakhs from him since the last 2-3 months.
Obang was seen assaulting the official on Friday 11 AM as captured on CCTV.
OC of Pasighat Police Station N Riba said that the alleged accused would be arrested soon.
When asked about the involvement of Samuel Gao in the incident, Riba said that he has denied his involvement in the case as he was just accompanying the main accused.
Meanwhile, Asst. Director Textile & Handicraft, Pasighat, Maklek Pertin termed the incident as detrimental to development activities. Pertin also said that such anti-social act will delay the project.
Condemning the incident, Tamat Gamoh, a member of All India Handloom Board member said “Such misbehavior by local people poses serious hindrance to developmental activities,”.
When contacted, State BJP president Tapir Gao refused to make any comment on the incident until a proper inquiry is made to ascertain the case.
“There is a disciplinary action committee in the party, who will look into it, Gao said.
The Apparel and Garment Manufacturing Unit is first of its kind in the state and one of the ambitious projects of the centre.
Strategic importance of Arunachal

Most states of India do not share border with any other country. Some states share borders with one country, a few share borders with two countries. Arunachal Pradesh is the only state in India to share borders with three countries. Arunachal shares 160 km border with Bhutan, 440 km with Myanmar and 1030 km with China.
About 95 % of Arunachal consists of high mountains and hill ranges. Up to the eastern tip of Arunachal the mountains are a part of the Himalayan ranges. In the south, the hills are part of the Patkai range. The terrain in these Himalayan ranges consists of steep mountains, deep ravines, gorges, dense jungles and turbulent rivers. The average height of these mountains ranges from few 1,000 feet to over 15,000 feet along the northern borders. Therefore Arunachal acts as a natural barrier towards the north and east.
The Tibetan plateau lies to the north and east of Arunachal. The general elevation of the terrain along the border with Arunachal ranges from 10,000 feet to over 15,000 feet. The area is marked by desolate and arid terrain without much vegetation. At these altitudes, due to less atmospheric oxygen levels, human beings require extensive acclimatisation and training to sustain even moderate levels of activity. The desolate and arid terrain makes it difficult and cost intensive for construction of many infrastructures like roads, railway, airfields, bridges etc.
Entry into Arunachal from the North and East is possible only through few passes dispersed along the mountain ranges. It is through these passes that the Chinese forces entered into Arunachal India in 1962. If these few passes are properly defended, it would be difficult for foot soldiers and supporting vehicles to gain entry into the region on a large scale. Therefore Arunachal with its imposing mountains and rough terrain constitutes a natural barrier for the Assam Valley.
If Arunachal is overrun, the Assam Valley will be exposed and there would be easy access to other parts of India.
Due to its many rapid flowing rivers, Arunachal is a source of tremendous Hydro power. It is estimated that Arunachal Pradesh has a hydropower potential of more than 50,000 megawatts (MW). It is estimated that this hydropower potential is capable of generating electricity to supply entire north India! Arunachal is also rich in mineral deposits like coal, limestone, dolomite etc. The state is also rich in rare flora and fauna. Access to these inherent capabilities cannot be frittered away by any nation.
Considering the strategic importance of Arunachal Pradesh, the nation must invest in developing and defending the state. The first step would be the identification of the few passes which allows entry into Arunachal from the North and East. These vital passes need to be strengthened and defended with vigour and urgency. This may be followed up with planning and building strategic infrastructure like All Weather Roads, Bridges, Railways, Airports etc to support these important defensive points. The hydro power potential of the state needs to be harnessed by building suitable dams. China has already commissioned a 510 MW dam over the Brahmaputra at Zangmu. Two more dams are under construction over the Brahmaputra in Tibet. We are debating, discussing and obstructing the construction of big dams. China is busy constructing dams!!
It is high time that we highlight the strategic importance of Arunachal Pradesh. Once the national leadership and we ourselves realise this strategic importance of our state, we will take off on the path of development and stability.
Fisheries dept to explore and popularise Trout culture
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: The Fisheries department has decided to adhere to the state government’s decision to explore and popularize trout culture in private sector and market linkage. Accordingly, construction of new ponds, expansion of paddy-cum-fish culture to other districts in line with the practices of Ziro valley ornamental pisciculture, trout culture in private sector will be promoted, stated an official release.
The decision was taken in the Annual Development Agenda 2016-17 cum schemes review meeting of last two years of the Department of Fisheries on Friday at Itanagar.
Commissioner (Fisheries) Huzar Lollen chaired the meeting which was attended by the directorate officials and District Fisheries Development Officers (DFDOs) from the districts.
The meeting also decided to take up the “Commercial Fisheries Enterprise” for unemployed fisheries graduates so that self-employment and income generation opportunities could be created.
Addressing the meeting, Lollen expressed the hope that TFC and RKVY commercial Fish Farming scheme would be a success. Accordingly, he directed all DFDOs to follow up the activities through regular field visits. The Commissioner also emphasized on the outcome of all the schemes and suggested to shun the schemes which has neither helped the department in production enhancement nor attracted the farmers.
Lollen also urged the participants to remain in the district headquarters. He reminded to ensure compliance of e-transfer of subsidy to beneficiary account and regularly report to the Director of Fisheries.
Earlier, Director of Fisheries J Taba requested the DFDOs to give new ideas for the growth of fisheries in the state.
The DFDOs who were present in the daylong meeting actively participated in the deliberations through their presentations.
Taking serious note of the absence of the DFDOs of Tawang, Dibang Valley and Upper Subansiri districts in the meeting, the Commissioner asked for issuing Show Cause Notice immediately.
PS home suggests traffic lighting system in Itanagar
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: Parliamentary Secretary Home Paknga Bage has suggested Traffic Lighting System at important junctions within capital complex to ease traffic congestion. He was speaking at a coordination meeting with all the police officers of Capital Complex at his office on Thursday.
He also suggested identifying areas to be notified as parking and no-parking zones and to workout diversion of road to regulate vehicular movements during peak traffic hours.
While assuring his support to curtail crime and maintain law and order situation, he sought support from the people.
The Police Officers highlighted about the prevailing situation of law and order, traffic management, functioning and position of fire service, WT communication and security within the Capital Complex. SP City Devender Arya, IPS, informed that Capital police department is facing acute shortage of manpower and lack of infrastructure. He recommended introducing Flying Squads to conduct MV checking 24X7 to reduce traffic jams in place of nakabandi system to detain traffic violators as well as to check vehicular theft.
The officer further suggested introduction of central police control room to enable speedy police services to tackle crime and calls during disaster and also emphasized on bringing out comprehensive Arunachal Pradesh Police Act and creation of special branch to tackle cybercrime.
‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday’ with Central Observers
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: The ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan’ was observed across the state with Central Observers participating at various districts.
At Roing, Dy. Secretary, Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, Nithya Nada Ray as the Central Observer visited Cheta- I &II villages on Saturday to oversee the celebration of Panchayat Day.
Speaking on the occasion, Ray exhorted the public to avail the benefits provided by the Government and urged them to open bank account under Jan Dhan Yojna. While enquiring about the facilities provided for public under Swatchh Bharat Abhiyan and other centrally sponsored schemes, he urged the executing agencies for proper implementation of every project.
EAC, N.K Namchoom urged the panchyati raj leaders and the villagers to know about various schemes being implemented by the government. She also informed about the various schemes provided by the government and exhorted the panchayat members for active participation.
To mark the occasion an essay and drawing competition was also conducted.
The function was attended by CO (incharge DPDO), Rakesh Tacho, DVO, Dr.Lego, panchayat members and other officials.
At Yingkiong, ‘Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan’ was conduct at Shimong village on Saturday with Deputy Secretary, GoI, Department of Personal and Training, CA Jacob attending as an Observer.
A Gram Sabha meeting was conducted were the villagers discussed on the sanitation, safe drinking water, MGNREGA, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Yammeng Hydro Power Project. The villagers were appealed to shoulder the responsibilities of cleaning the village and act as role model for others.
Among others, DC Upper Siang (incharge), Tapik Pertin, ZPM Yingkiong, Bading Teng and Gram chairperson, Nyogor Litin spoke at the function.
The Gram Sabha was also attended by Chairperson Anchal Samiti, Api Komboh, HoDs of various departments, public leaders, PRI members and Goan Burahs.
“Be a part of the planning process,” called Professor and head of National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj and CGARD, Guwahati, Dr Kamnak Hanoi. He was speaking as the observer at the Gram Sabha of 1-Bath Chimpu Gram Panchayat on Saturday.
He said that Gram Sabha as envisaged by Mahatma Gandhi can only be realized through appropriate Gram Panchayat Development Plan (GPDP).
The gram sabha was organized under the aegis of Gram Uday se Bharat Uday Abhiyan to discuss GPDP and to encourage villagers participation for successful implementation of My Village My Development Plan (MVMDP).
The villagers brought forth various civic amenities lacking in their respective villages and requested for inclusion of the same in the perspective MVMDP of Bath Chimpu GP.
At West Siang, Central Observer, D.C. Singh, Deputy Secretary Ministry of Shipping, GoI attended a Gram Sabha meeting at Peri village on Saturday.
Interacting with the Gram Sabha members of Peri, Kamki, Kunu Yami, Gemo Tali and Dego Kamki, Singh exhorted the members to make Gram Sabha an institution to promote public participation in rural local governance through identification of works, selection of beneficiaries, implementation, monitoring social audit schemes, and other wide range of programmes for economic development and social justice.
He disclosed that the Government is very keen to take stock of performance of the Panchayats at village level and has deputed 850 observers all over India to take stock of the functioning of Gram Sabhas from April 14 to 24 as part of the “Gram Uday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan”.
The ADC-cum-District Panchayat Development Officer, deliberated on quantum of monetary grants from the Centre under 13th and 14th Fourteenth Commission and its utilization for rural economy and upliftment. He insisted on submission of utilization certificate by all Panchayat leaders for getting the second installment of central grants.
ZPM Kamba, Gedo Kato, ADO, Kirmin Kamki and ADC (incharge) Kamba, K. Kamgo, GPC Peri Kamki spoke on various schemes and its implementation in the Gram Panchayat. Circle Officer Aalo, Oni Padun, Gram Sabha members, public and GBs from different villages attended the meeting.

ACF trainees visit Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: A group of 35 officers from the Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFOS) Dehradun visited Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary on April 22 and 23 as part of their East India tour.
The officers interacted with the officials of the forest department at the Forest Rest House at Ramalingam for an insight into the working of the department.
The trainees visited the Nature Interpretation Centre where DFO Millo Tasser explained about the importance and ways of interpretation in a protected area.
Next day the officers went bird-watching and trekking to Tragopanda Lake with local tourist guides. Important management and biological sites were also visited by the trainees. ACF Bharat Singh and RFO Kushal Hazarika accompanied and briefed the trainees.
Later, in an interactive session with the Bugun community where Bugun Welfare Society, chairman, Indi Glow shared his experience about how the Bugun tribe have become stewards of conservation and their unique model of bird-based tourism in and around Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary.
Gaon Burah Singchung, Dawa Sarai informed the officer trainees of the commitment Bugun community has for the conservation of flora and fauna and that how they are proposing for declaration of a community reserve.
In addition to exchanging their views about management, the trainees had also the opportunity to view the spectacular varieties of rhododendrons and birds.
Org thank Pul, Assam police for helping accident victims
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: Nyiko Panggii Society, Itanagar has expressed its gratitude to the state govt, various organizations, individuals and Assam Police for the help rendered after tragic road accident of April 19 that claimed three lives on the NH 52 near Telam in Assam-Arunachal border. All the victims were from Jini village in West Siang.
The Chief Minister Kalikho Pul extended all possible help by directing the district administrations of East Siang and West Siang to expedite all required formalities as well as granting immediate financial help for evacuating the deceased to their native place for last rite, and for medical treatments of the injured ones, read a statement.
The Nyiko Banggo is also grateful to all those good Samaritans who rushed to the accident site and offered required helps at such pressing hour, it said while thanking the Mising of Assam and people of Ramle Banggo in East Siang.

ATA memo for CM
ITANAGAR, Apr 23: A team of central executive committee of Arunachal Teachers’ Association (ATA) on Saturday called on Chief Minister Kalikho Pul at his official residence and submitted a memorandum demanding constitution of State Advisory Board of Education (SABE), review and modification of the Arunachal Pradesh Education Act 2010, complete bifurcation of Elementary and Secondary Education from block level to district, among others, to bring substantial progress in education system.
ATA further demanded appointment of full-fledged Director by amending the RR for the post of Director (Elementary/Secondary) and sanctioning of additional fund for completion of Sikshak Bhawan.
The apex teachers’ body expressed displeasure over the service extension of the officers, who are on verge of superannuation in the department and urged the Chief Minister to renounce such practice in the department of education.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister while responding to the demands, assured to call a meeting to discuss with the Education Minister and Commissioner (Education) at earliest.
Further, he assured to sanction additional fund within this financial year as per DPR for completion of the ongoing Sikshak Bhawan project at Govt. Upper Primary School, Papunallah, Naharlagun, the release claimed.

DHS conducts DTF meeting at Pangin
PANGIN, Apr 23: The District Health Society, Siang conducted its Task Force meeting for immunization on Friday.
Chairing the meeting, DC (incharge) J Jonnam appealed the Medical Officers of all health centers and frontline health workers to gear up all activities drawing contingency plans in the event of road blockage to make National Switch Day successful on April 25.
Kisan Sabhas observed in Tirap
KHONSA, Apr 23: A series of village Kisan Sabhas were held from April 17 to 20 at various blocks in Tirap district under the aegis of Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary and Fishery departments.
DAO, H. Chimyang and DHO, Charo Sumnyan and field staffs and representatives from line departments discussed various development schemes with the villagers.
The Sabha were conducted at Khela, Lapnan , Tupi and Namsang, Laho and Soha, Lazu and Doidam villages.
Classrooms inaugurated
AALO, Apr 23: Two new class rooms funded under RTE SSA Zilla Mission West Siang were inaugurated by Deputy Speaker, Tumke Bagra at Lipu Bagra village here on Friday.
The Upper Primary School Lipu Bagra was established in 1977 and upgraded in 2003.
Speaking on the occasion, Bagra emphasized on proper use and care of school infrastructure and sought cooperation from the villagers on all round development works.
The Deputy Speaker was accompanied by DDSE, Tumto Lollen, DPC RMSA Yidak Angu and many officers.
Later, a plantation drive was also conducted in the premises of the school on the occasion. (DIPRO)
